Review content:
We were getting tired of bakeries in the Frederick area being overpriced, avant-garde, and way too full of themselves. We needed a bakery to supply yummy desserts for our daughter's wedding, so this was a big deal. I am a baker, and I was going to create a small centerpiece cake. But we needed desserts to feed 165 people, and a little cake wasn't going to be enough. After reading their website information, I thought my husband and I would take a trip to this bakery and check it out before ordering. This bakery is in the middle of what's left of the farming community outside of Frederick. A small unassuming liitle building appeared as we drove around, and we saw a small sign for Ed's Country Bakery. Upon entering, we were pleasantly surprised at how neat and tidy everything was. The dessert case was full of mouth-watering goodies and the counters were full of breads, cookies, and assorted other baked goods. Ed came to talk to us, and we decided to go ahead and order our wedding desserts with him. While we were there, several people arrived to pick up cake orders, mostly wedding cakes. They were all beautiful. My husband and I bought several items to ""taste test"" when we got home. Everything was so delicious! You could taste the quality ingredients.
On the day of the wedding, a very nice lady delivered the order to our venue in Frederick. The smells were intoxicating. Everything looked scrumptious when we placed them on the trays.
When it came time for the guests to eat dessert, everything from Ed's was devoured!! We ordered several kinds of doughnuts, cookies, and cupcakes. All were delicious.
And best of all, the prices at Ed's were so very reasonable.
When we are out that way, we will now make stopping at Ed's part of our trip! I am delighted to say that this is now my favorite Frederick bakery for dessert goodies.
This quaint bakery is definitely worth the trip.
