This is a great place with awesome pastries just like the one in old Detroit and it has great ice cream. Recently very late at night I stopped in and I bought a Danish to take home for breakfast to have with my morning coffee. It was the last one they had and turned out to be very stale when I ate it in the morning. I phoned them around 9AM and the person answering the phone took my name and told me to let the manager know next time I came in so I could get full credit toward my next purchase. They are very honest people running a great old time bakery. I never had a bad experience there before and will return in the future. Very cool, traditional bakery with a very European feel to it. Royal Oak is full of free music because of the great street musicians who perform on the street for donations, so get take out if you are there at night and have something sweet while you listen to the best free music in Metro Detroit!
