I've been pierced twice before, once in the cartilage. However, I got my first piercing at a shady place, resulting in a horribly painful infection in my cartilage which took weeks to heal.\r \r 10 years later, I started looking for a new piercing and I decided that I wanted an industrial piercing. Not wanting to relive what happened ten years prior, I went online to search for the best piercing parlors in New York City. Three Days later, and I discovered the Red Parlour.\r \r Now let me first say that I chose the Red Parlour because it was the only piercing parlor to get 28 perfect reviews on citysearch, and any other reviews were equally outstanding. However, I was still uncertain whether the Red parlour would be the best piercing studio for me. I looked up other famous piercing studios, most of them located in St. Marks. Despite their popularity, I ultimatley booked an appointment at Red Parlour.\r \r Arriving there, I was greeted by a very friendly male worker, whose name I believe was Red. I finished the paperwork and was brought into a room to be pierced by Powder. She was very professional, and eased my nerves by talking to me. One thing that I think is important to note is the cleanliness of the whole procedure -- she changed her gloves about four times, everthing was in sterile packaging, and all their materials are sterilized through an autoclave. She took time to measure out my ear, even opening three barbells to ensure there was one that fit perfectly. She then pierced my ears. Either she was an amazing piercer or everyone online exaggeragtes, because the industrial piercing was not very painful. Of course, the two actual piercings themselves were sharp pains for about three seconds each, but afterwards, I didn't really experience the pain that many people online woe over.\r \r Overall, with aftercare and instructions carefully given to me by Red, the procedure was much cheaper than any of the other ""famous"" piercing parlors\r \r BIG thumbs up Pros: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Reassurance, Cheap Cons: Getting to Queens Blvd? Just take Q45 at Jackson Heights (74th st) via 7 train and get off at queens blvd.
