Now normally I don't go for something heavy like BBQ, but today I wanted ribs. This was our first trip to the Big City BBQ and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. One waitress was manning the entire dining area, tending bar, and playing cashier and doing it all with a smile and polite small talk. She was also very knowledgeable about all of the different meats and suggested a cheaper way to order my entree and sides. I got my ribs which were very thick with a lot of meat and heavily coated in sauce. My creamed corn was very sweet and good and the candied yams were like dessert. For luck and prosperity in the new year, they were offering free sides of black eyed peas or greens with every drink purchase. Now I'm not a big fan of greens, but these were salty and seasoned so they were very palatable. We saw several regulars come in, several of whom ordered take-out. The only thing I disliked was the fact that there were three TVs on?first on the game and then on America's Funniest Home Videos. The restaurant kept on filling up even though when I called I was told that they were going to close early. I'll be sure to tell my BBQ-loving friends about Big City BBQ. Pros: Great service, low prices, full bar Cons: TVs in dining area
