During our summer vacation to Florence on the Oregon Coast, my fiance and I were excited to visit the C-Food Market, home of some of the best clam chowder we could remember from our visit last year. Walking in the door for the second time, we couldn't believe we were in the same place. Service was absolutely horrible from start to finish, beginning with the scowling hostess who didn't say more than two words to us. Despite the fact that it was about 11:15 in the morning and we were one of the only parties in the restaurant, it took ages for someone to come and take our orders. Once we did, we waited and waited, until the chowder finally arrived, our drinks a bit afterwards (after we asked again about their wherabouts). My fiance ordered a pepperoni pizza, and it was the most disgusting, grease-laden thing either of us had ever seen (and keep in mind, we're counting the grocery store Tostino's Party Pizzas he warms up for a snack every now and then). My dungeoness crab sandwich was all right, but without any kind of aioli or sauce on the big kaiser roll, it was very dry and bready. After finishing this extremely disappointing meal, we began the wait for our check. When it finally came, we got sick of waiting for someone to return to take the card and run it, so I went straight up the counter. After personally handing my card to the waiter, it took TEN MINUTES to run my card and get it back to me! Apparently there were a ""lot of other cards to run"", which was funny as the lunch rush hadn't even been finished seating by the time we were very ready to leave. I was absolutely livid, paying over $50 for one of the worst meals and definitely the worst service in memory. I considered talking to the manager, but I figured it was a lost cause, this place seems to be extremely apathetically managed. There's some great little places to eat in Florence and the surrounding coast towns. Please just avoid this one. Pros: Clam Chowder Cons: All Other Food, Service (or lack therof)
