Review content:
So my girlfriend and I wanted to order chinese, so we decided to try this place. We're new to the area so it was our first time as customers. I called the store and ordered mongolian beef, sesame chicken and fried wontons. I do not like rice, so I asked for my rice on the side so my girlfriend could have it. They informed me that during lunch I could not have my rice on the side. I offered to pay extra to get it in a separate box, and the lady got mad and gave the phone to a man who told me again they wouldn't separate the rice from the chicken, I offered to pay him extra and they charged me $1 to put my rice in a separate box. No real problem there, I got what I wanted and it only cost a buck. No big deal really. Here's where it gets nasty. We both ate some of our food, and put the rest in the fridge. The next day my girlfriend calls me screaming because there was a full-sized cockroach in her mongolian beef, which she started to chew on before realizing it and spitting it out. She was more frustrated than I about having to pay for a box for my rice, and now after eating a roach she insisted that she was going to the store to demand a refund. She took the food and the roach with her, all chewed up, and went to Jade Palace where they refused to give her all the money back. From what she told me they sort of shoved $8 at her and got her out the door, when the check was over $20. I've managed about 6 restaurants in the birmingham area over the last 6 or 7 years and I would be completely ashamed of myself if that were the kind of business I was doing. I have to wonder whether or not the roach was purposefully put in her food because they took us as giving them a hard time about wanting our rice on the side. I will never eat at Jade Palace again. I will forever tell my story. I hope you guys are happy. For a first time customer, I certainly am not.
