I had a custom ring made through Stroud Jewelers. It was the worst experience I've ever had with a jeweler. First off, I entrusted them with several heirloom stones that they ""swapped out"" for different stones. Most of the heirloom stones were not returned to me. They quoted me one price, when the bill came it was more than double the original quote. The excuse was made that the work done was more than they had estimated, however they never contacted me to inform me of the additional charges during the process. I requested the ring be made out of a certain type of metal, due to allergies, when the ring came back it was made out of a less expensive metal. I wore the ring for one week and broke out in blisters around my finger. I took it back and had to have it recast. The quality of piece is total crap! I've had the ring for a little over a year and have had 3 stones fall out, which I had to have replace by a different jeweler, costing me even more money. I am very dissatisfied with Stroud Jewelers and would discourage everyone from patronizing this establishment.
