Wilson Smith (or ""Smitty"") of Atlanta Autoplex comes across as a mechanic of integrity and honesty. However, his business practice seems to be one of ongoing deceit and incompetence. He ruined my 850 volvo wagon. I took it in for a head gasket replacement - a pro-active repair due to coolant seeping into the engine oil. I gave him a $1000 deposit in January to expedite the process of repair which he said would take approximately one week. He did not take my car in until late February, and did not complete the work until April 17th! After driving the car for two days, it stopped running. I then noticed engine oil all over the floor of my garage. No oil registered on the dipstick. I took it back. He assured me that he would find the problem and fix it to my satisfaction. Another 6 weeks passed. I picked up my car again on Sunday, June 8th. On Tuesday, June 10th, it stopped running again. This time, I took my car to KW Imports Volvo Specialist, who had come highly recommended from Voluparts and another Volvo owner. KW discovered a crimp in the fuel line. No gasoline was getting returned into the engine! He also inspected the undercarriage of the car and showed me where it was leaking oil from both sides of the head. We then discovered that Smitty had placed a rag inside the head cover to absorb excess oil! I scheduled an appointment with KW Imports for Monday, June 16th, but could not drive my car in the interim because the oil leak was so severe, it caused the entire engine compartment to smoke, and because of the heat generated, there was the possibility of an engine fire. On Monday, KW discovered what was causing the excess oil leakage - three missing pieces of metal (cracks) on the head!!! These were most likely caused by Smitty improperly torquing the head. No gasket silicone was used when he put the head back together, leaving metal against metal. Also, none of the gaskets were new, and the bolts to the head were stripped, mismatched, and covered in silicone. Cons: WORST SERVICE
