I have been a customer of Sage Jewelers for many years.I have all my watches repaired, batteries and straps purachased, replaced there.Never had a problem until this August.Purchasd a special order leather band\r and picked it up in July. The band was close to $50.00 and was perfect.2 weeks later the watch the band was on stopped working.Brought it in,John the associate(not the owner) quoted $30,00 to ship it out for repair quote.Called back and said the repair would be $187.25 I asked what the guarantee was on the watch, and that id like it in writing on the invoice, his reply was one year on labor, not sure about parts. When i pressed on for him to be specific, his reply was ""YEA,YEA"" like he couldnt be bothered..Fine,i gave approval and gave him credit card info over phone. When the watch returned to his shop\r he called and asked that I pick it up.Ok,until i came in shop.1/ when i entered the shop, all i had was the receipt for the $30.00 shipping a. I asked for the $187.25 receipt (cr Card) he said he doesnt have it 2/ I asked him to write the warranty on my receipt, which he said ""ARE YOU A LAWYER) No im not a lawyer, but verbal guarantees dont work.(he wrote one year,parts/labor)He gave me the watch,I expressed my displeasure and asked when the owner would be in.Next day was his answer,No sorry, nothing. When I got out side noticed leather band was ripped(Either it was done at repair place or the Jewelry shop)Came back in,showed John.Virtually, no response,as if I did it.Called ,next day, owner almost as bad, told me to come in.Ill never go back again. Its the principal, not the amount of $$$
