Review content:
Well, tonight I convinced my girlfriend Amanda that we should go to Crazy Buffet in Altamonte Springs(on 434 and 436). The moment we entered the establishment it appeared clean enough and the buffet filled with assorted sushi also appeared appetizing as well. I have to admit I felt quite proud of myself for deciding to finally check this place out. \r
Upon closer inspection we found a large assortment of sub-par sushi and the sushimi...I won't even go there(looked and felt at least 3-4 hours old if not more). Feeling barely half satified, we decided to try the rest of the buffet(especially the snow crab legs which are served cold). The crab legs were overcooked and obviously were not fresh either. The Peking Duck was never presented to us(the space on the buffet remained empty for the duration of dinner) or the Filet Mignon(non-existent) for that matter, but after sampling all the bland, dried up room temperature items on the hot side of the buffet we knew our investment of $52.00(2 buffets and 2 flat sodas) was a complete waste(not counting a tip). Finally we tried the ""hibachi grill"" as a last ditch effort to salvage our dining experience. There we found vegetables with dry shriveled edges next to slightly discolored raw chicken and beef in pans next to the slimey raw shrimp. You pick what you want and your sauce(garlic, terryaki or spicy) and a ""cook"" prepares it for you. With the cook having no culinary skills whatsoever, we were not surprised when both of our plates left us feeling disgusted, cheated and slightly sick. We felt as if we had just been mugged.\r
Luckily we were able to stop a couple in the parking lot(on their way in) as we were escaping our nightmare and turn them away. We only wish someone had been there to do the same for us as we arrived with such high expectations. \r
*On the bright side*\r
Theres always China Jade Mongolian BBQ behind Fashion Square Mall. Way better quality and selection for half the price!!
Pros: Some of the sushi was okay(very little).
Cons: Way overpriced!! Tastes like yesterdays food with ambience of a morgue. People seem distraught.
