Review content:
What a great place. Looks like an old-fashioned, tacky Chinese restaurant -- red wallpaper, golden dragons everywhere, drinks with umbrellas. The owner seems to really like food, and keeps expanding the menu beyond the straight-ahead Chinese and Japanese offerings. I love the red curries (chicken, shrimp or vegetarian, all rich with coconut milk), the Thai chicken satay with peanut sauce, the pad thai, the Thai-style seafood soup. There are often little samosas or fish cakes on the appetizer menu. Usually I'd be leery of a place that tried to do so many different things, but somehow it works at this place. You get the feeling that someone in the kitchen is happy you're ordering some of the more unusual stuff, and they're rewarding you by making sure it's extra good. Oh yeah, the sushi is also good and so is the Chinese.
Pros: Friendly staff, pleasingly cheesy ambience, really good food
Cons: Getting busy because of its good rep
