Review content:
I studied hip-hop with Jessica Hayden, who owns Shockra Studios. It was genuinely one of the best experiences of my life and I plan on continuing my studies there as long as possible. Jessica can DANCE. This is not an aerobics class with some hip hop moves thrown in; it's the real deal (although clearly busting out on the dance floor for an hour straight will get you in shape. Jessica can DANCE, and she taught my class (her absolute beginner class at that) how to DANCE. But what I really got out of it was an outlet to express myself through dance, and I think that Jessica encourages that kind of personal expression for all her students, especially through the free one-hour one-on-one lessons that came with the cost of the class. She encourages students to learn the moves intellectually and then let go and feel the music, improvise, and grow into their own style. She ends each email with ""love, live, give"" and I think she lives up to that aspiration - encouraging it in others. Pros: personalized instruction from supportive experts at reasonable rates
