I lived in my old apartment building for three years. The transfer of property management to Eclipse factored hugely in my decision to vacate.
I advise prospective tenants NOT to rent property managed by Eclipse.
I advise property owners NOT to contract Eclipse, so as to avoid any possible legal issues that may arise from the poor handling of situations by Eclipse.
Eclipse was irresponsive and impossible to contact directly. The new building manager selected by Eclipse was never available. The only number at which I could ever reach anyone directly was a 24-hour emergency hotline. Even then, the representative who answered was unable to help.
Eclipse was disorganized and operated on bad faith. They violated rental laws and regulations. Several times, the water was turned off without notice. During one incident, the water was off for nearly 24 hours. I returned that day to find my studio door open. The maintenance crew had illegally entered my apartment unit, presumably to make an ""emergency"" repair, even though the plumbing issue wasn?t in my apartment. The entire situation was handled unprofessionally.
When I moved out, my security deposit wasn?t returned to me for TWO entire months. The accounting manager claimed that Eclipse never received my new contact information. This information was in fact included in my 30-day notice.
Do not rent Eclipse-managed property. Do not contract Eclipse. They are unprofessional, and unconscientious.
Pros: Seriously can't even think of a single thing...
Cons: You can never speak with them directly... EVER
