A friend suggested Magnolia, she raved it was a nice restaurant in L.A. without attitude and the prices. Boyfrend and I ate there one Friday evening without a reservation, although we did feel like we needed to make one since the hostess asked if we had one. We were seated on the nice patio outback and our waiter was very attentive. Boyfriend had the steak salad, the beef just melted in your mouth. I had the chicken sandwich with gouda cheese, just yummy. We shared the apple crisp for dessert and it is ALMOST better than mine. Dinner for under $60, not bad! But, the secret is out - many people come here just for the bar so it can get crowded fast. We saw Rachel Bilson and Adam Brody from the O.C., which means all the wannabes are not far behind and this ceases to be a neighborhood joint. Pros: Food, Service, Prices Cons: Crowded, No longer a secret
