You'd be better off going to Taco Bell. Honestly, this place doesn't even deserve one star. Mexican cuisine is supposed to be bold, spicy and flavorful, yet everything my party ordered lacked ANY flavor. AT ALL. The meal started off alright with the chips and salsa arriving promptly. But the salsa tastes like grocery store tomatoes chopped up with white onions and mixed with tap water, and the chips oozed with stale peanut oil. We started off with the nachos - canned beans, iceberg lettuce, pre-grated 'mexican blend' cheese, bland tomatoes, possibly canned shredded chicken? - and they couldn't have been less flavorful. I ordered the shrimp fajitas, which are served with some black beans from a can, mashed up avacado (NOT guacamole, whether they claim it is or not), sour cream, flavorless rice, and 3 tiny flour tortillas that were very possibly bought at Dollar General. The presentation was nice - shrimp, peppers, tomatoes and onions served up on a sizzling cast iron skillet - but the food was terribly bland and overcooked. My shimp were shriveled, burnt on the bottom and stuck to the skillet. My party also ordered the carne asada (which I assume Tortilla Flat thinks is Spanish for ""steak burnt to hell"") and the chicken fajitas (as bland and burnt as the shrimp.) The service was horrible and excruciatingly slow and the prices are ludicrous considering how awful the food is. It's a real shame that such a prime location is wasted on such a horrible restaurant. Avoid Tortilla Flat at all costs. Pros: Location, Ambience Cons: Food, Service, Price
