Review content:
I was quoted one price on the phone. But when we got to the airport, the driver insisted it was $20 more than what we had been quoted. I asked her to call the office and speak to someone who worked there. When they said they agreed with her higher price, I asked to speak with them directly. I was told I couldn't possibly have been quoted the lower price. I said I had written it down on my passport folder, and was sorry, but that was the price I was quoted. They responded that I had to be lying. At that point I paid the driver the quoted price plus a 10% tip, and my wife and I entered the terminal. The driver, a very large woman from Bulgaria, followed us into the terminal, screaming that we were trying cheat her. She kept screaming at us as we checked in, making quite a scene. Finally, she brought over two airport security people, who suggested we give her the extra $20, and take it up with her boss when we returned from our trip. We were already late for our flight (the driver had arrived nearly 30 minutes after the requested pickup time), so to expedite matters, and get her to stop screaming, I gave her the $20. While overseas, I e-mailed the owner of Marin Door-to-Door, and told him about our experience. I tried to do it in a respectful way, while still letting him know how upsetting the whole experience was. He e-mailed me back, saying he was sending me a check for $20, but he never wanted us to travel with Marin Door-to-Door again. No apology, no attempt to understand what it was like from our perspective. This was once a great service, until purchased by the current owners.
