Review content:
There are good things about this place and bad things. The good: It's right on the beach The apartments have nice amenities (granite counter tops, marble counter tops, nice microwaves, stoves, dishwashers) Separate tub and shower in some apartments As of Nov. 2010 the residents here are very friendly and sociable. Would be hard to ask for better. Storage for bikes, kayaks, surfboards, luggage, etc. Very secure (8 security cameras) Low rent for the area and gas and electric are included. The bad: The walls are paper thin. Anything louder than a whisper and your neighbors to the side of you, or above or below you will hear every word. Most of the bedrooms are tiny and have very little closet space. There's a building to the north which blocks most of the view for the apartments on that side. On the south side the neighbor has planted trees which block the ocean view for almost all the apartments on that side. There are 21 apartments and 18 parking spots. The owner wants to make 2 of the one bedroom apartments share a parking spot. This is just a stupid idea and causes more problems than it solves. There's no AC and in the summer months the apartments are about 85 degrees. The owners are more concerned about making the building look nice than to actual be nice. The parking spots are tiny. Good for a subcompact, but not much else. Here's the lowdown on all the apartments 101/201 - These sit right on PCH. 101 has a nice wooden deck, but you'll never use it because PCH is too loud. Larger bedrooms and more storage. Tiny bathrooms though. Because of the PCH noise you can't open your windows to cool things down and with no AC these are awful in the summer. You also hear all the noise from the front door. 102/210 - Small apartments, but nice views. The problem is the walkway goes right in front of your front window, so you feel like you're living in a fishbowl. 103/202 - Small bedrooms and a small ocean view from the balcony and bedroom. 104/203 - Nicer apartments, fireplace. The downside is they still have small bedrooms, no storage and little to no ocean view 105 - Nice view from the bedroom, but small bedroom and small apartment 106 - This is an oceanfront unit, however the bedroom has no view and is tiny. Just bad planning. The plaster is this apartment constantly peels because it's on the ocean. 204 - 3 bedroom and no ocean view from any of the bedroom. However, the master bedroom is huge. The master bedroom isn't attached though. Who designed this building? 107 - Similar to 106. A slight view from the bedroom and the bedroom is tiny. At least the balconies are larger on this side of the building 205 - A two bedroom. A small master bedroom. No larger than any of the one bedroom units. The second bedroom is laughable as a bedroom. It's almost an afterthought. 206 - A small studio with a loft. The kitchen is miniturized and storage space is minimal. It has a nice view from the balcony though. 108/207 - Larger apartments w/ fireplaces. No storage and unfortunately the neighbors trees have eliminated a nice view from these balconies. 109/208 - Similar to 103/202. However these apartments have have larger balconies, but because of the neighbors trees they have no view. 110/209 - 3 bedrooms. Nice size master bedrooms and the master has an attached bedroom. If you open the front door you'll have a view of the ocean. Close the door and your view's gone. The 2nd and 3 bedrooms are larger than the standard 1 bedrooms in this complex, but have no views and sit right on PCH, which makes them noisy as heck. 111 - A small one bedroom, but at least it has a good size balcony and a decent view, though about half of the view has disappeared because of the neighbors trees and will probably continue to disappear as time goes o
