Went with a group for birthday celebrations a couple of weeks ago. The space is beautiful - picture perfect flower arrangements, a gorgeous staircase. We had balcony seating which made the views more impressive. But the food just wasn't what I was expecting. It was good, but I wasn't expecting good - I was expecting WOW. I had the tuna appetizer, which was good but too salty (and I love salty food, so this is a really rare complaint from me). The veal carpaccio was also good. For my main course, I had the pasta with crab something or other. Not much crab (two, to be exact) but the pasta did taste amazingly fresh. The biggest disappointment at the table was with the two that had duck for two. They were sorely unimpressed with the breast portions. They both loved the pate portion so much that I had to try just a bit and it was the best I've ever tasted (I've only tasted it 3 times, though, so I'm by far no expert). I think the waiter assumed we thought it undercooked, so he took it back and fired it up for a couple more minutes. Still, it was a disaster. That brings me to service which I thought was top notch. Everyone was very polite, there when you needed them but not overbearing. They even gave us 2 free desserts on the house for the two celebrating birthdays (I think they knew the duck was THAT BAD). The desserts were amazing! The only part of the meal that had a WOW factor (one chocolate mousse of some sort and one strawberry concoction that was mouth watering). We made a good time of it, but I wouldn't go back and I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to anyone else for dinner. But it is a beautiful place to have a drink or just dessert. Pros: The views, service, dessert Cons: Appetizers and the main course (esp. the duck).
