This ""celebrity"" chef needs to stop reading his own press releases and get back to cooking good unpretentious food. I took my wife here for her birthday believing that when you pay $17 for a salad, $30 for an appetizer and $65 dollars for an entree you deserve the best. Boy was I wrong. The pasta tastings revealed a heavy-handed overspicing ruining what should have been, by its description, delicious. If that wasn't bad enough, the Veal Millanesse was inedible. Unfortunatly, we both ordered it. The waiter removed the offending dishes which tasted as if a full shaker of salt had been dumped on it. When we complained to the head waiter, he explained that they had several complaints that evening about the veal. In a restaurant of this caliber there is no excuse for such poor quality control. Mr. Batali, do yourself a favor and let Lidia get more involved. This never would have happened at Felidia.
