Hal's was recommended to me by a co-worker who raved that Hal's had the best steaks in Atlanta - particularly for a restaurant that a lot of people have not heard of. I was looking for a nice place to take my girlfriend for her birthday dinner that was NEW (and since we eat out a lot, this was no easy feat). On his recommendation, I chose Hal's. Everything my co-worker said in recommending Hal's proved true. The steak was absolutely excellent - better than most of the higher profile/more well known steakhouses in Atlanta. Service was excellent - the staff including the host were very attentive to our every need. Everything was just the way I had hoped it would be. I will absolutely be coming back. The only downside appears to be that word is out on Hal's and it gets really crowded (including the party of 10 men next to us who were very loud). But in terms of ambience, food, wine list and service, I have not found a better establishment anywhere in Atlanta.
