I purchased a used Ford Ranger mid June 2011 and paid cash. No one ever mentioned anything about running my credit report, nor did I sign anything authorizing it, but it was run. All the staff were nice when buying, but when I tried to call in after the sale about the credit report, nobody would have any part of it. Several people never returned calls. A couple people passed the buck. A couple people told me false information about having to do it for Homeland Security. They didn't know what they were talking about. I finally got to someone who knew the rules, but even though they had nothing with my signature he still said there was nothing he could do. This is an important element. All staff members should KNOW what the process is, and anytime a report is run they should MAKE SURE they talk to the customer beforehand. I had to write the credit agency requesting to have it removed. I'm also filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and writing to their highest ranked employ
