Here's the Reader's Digest Version: - After paying $49 to fix my computer, they tried to make me buy a new hard drive from them. I felt uncomfortable at the pressure, so I looked up hard drives on my own and found one from Dell that had FOUR TIMES THE MEMORY for LESS than what they were pressuring me to buy. (And it wasn't even on a special sale!) Needless to say, we thought we had dodged a bullet on their ethics. -When we went to pick up our computer, the laptop cord was not given back to us. When we asked them where it was, they said it probably went home with one of their workers. They said that they would look for it or order us a new one if they couldn't find it. -Phone call after phone call followed. The cord had been ""ordered."" More time...another phone call...They told us it was coming from overseas, but had no idea when it was coming...The manager was too busy to talk to us...He'd get back to us as soon as he could...Each excuse was lousier than the last. It has now been over four months since our laptop cord was ""ordered."" - Filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Computer Bytes ignored the official complaint twice. After reading more about all the problems people have had, I would encourage you to PLEASE report them to the BBB. If enough people did, perhaps we could shut them down. I doubt they even bothered to ask the guy who took our computer home what happened to our cord.
