Review content:
I just moved to Anchorage with my husband who is in the Air Force (Accent of Style just recently started offering a military discount!). After 13 days on the road, I was in need of a good massage. As a massage therapist myself, I did a lot of research into the spa offerings around town. I visited at least 10 different spas before deciding to give my loyalty to Accent of Style.
I have never before experienced such exceptional, sincere service as I experienced from every person at Accent of Style, from the receptionists to the therapists. In talking with other customers, I learned that Accent of Style has a loyal local following and each therapist/service provider is among the best in their fields, with extensive experience and personal passion for their work. To make it even better, their absolute professionalism is enriched and softened by their hospitable nature. You can truly feel loyalty and kindness the moment you step through the doors.
Their facility is top of the line. The salon is light and airy and the spa, separated by a inner door, is serene and relaxing. The salon uses Aveda and other top of the line hair products, so you don't smell that ""salon funk"" like you do elsewhere. The spa offers manicures and pedicures in private rooms in addition to outstanding massage therapy, facials, and waxing services. All in all, I had the most pleasant experience that I have ever had in a spa - and I've been in dozens all around the world.
To be honest, I was most tempted to choose Allure Day Spa and Salon at first. They're the big name around town; but I soon discovered that that's about all they are. All talk, very little substance. I eventually got a massage there too and learned that Allure has upwards of 30 massage therapists, most of whom are fresh out of school; and a turn around rate for employees like you wouldn't believe. You also have to pay to park, which is a hassle.
Ultimately, I opted to stick with Accent of Style because of their trustworthy quality of service. I knew I wouldn't ever be taking a chance with any of their service providers. Every experience has been rewarding and I highly recommend Accent of Style.
Pros: Military discount; reliable service
