Took my truck in for a diagnostic concerning the clouds of smoke coming from tailpipe...& of course the coupla gallons of diesel in my oil evry 3K Dealer called and said they couldnt do the injectors...I said 'fine' I would like to come and get the truck...Dealer said glow plugs were bad and a special policy covers them...I told them thats OK I would like to pick up the truck and take it to another dealer... at that time (without my consent) they said that work had already began on my glow plugs?? The truck was to be done the following day according to the service rep. No phone call the following day...After that I called them at which time they informed me that they had broke a glow plug off in the head. Having looked at the cylinder head I would have to say a wild animal was the one who attempted to drill that plug out?!. Having had time to reflect on all of it & having met the 'tech' who diagnosed the fuel injectors my opinoin is: They didnt do much concerning the injectors...I do believe the glow plug did simply break off...I furthermore believe that the dealer pooched the drill out job intentionally in order to charge GM 37.9 HRS of labor to remove & re-install the engine + the HRS to do a head job. Took the (4) injectors from the craped out head to ST. Joeseph Diesel (a certified BOSCH sales and service center) who actually has real hardware / equip. to test the injectors and they determined (1) bad, (1) IS CRACKED & the other (2) are 'questionable' as to how they have left. Used to blame savvy marketing by foreign car makers as a cuase of the lost market share GM was experiencing..now I just think that when you make your bed..you lay in it. Its no wonder people dont trust american made autos anymore. The ""Cable-Dahmer difference""..is screwing you & GM for as much $ as possible and sending you out in a truck that was no better / different than when you brought it in.. Adam Parker /servIce advisor / Rich Frost - Service manager.. CABLE DAHMER bALOWS BIG TIME.. Cons: TONS
