Review content:
I was recommended to see Cynthia Torres for a haircut from a friend of mine who thought she was really good. I have already exhausted just about every reasonable hair salon in this city so I thought I'd give her a try. I just went recently and was in dire need of a neatly styled hairdo by that point. Cynthia was really nice, friendly and took her time in cutting my hair the way I knew I wanted it done. She didn't rush me out the door, like other stylists do, and the salon atmosphere was very relaxed, low key and friendly--not loud, crazy-busy nor was anyone acting pretentious or snobby. Cynthia was very conversational, confident, and focused, though yes, she is a really young woman, she certainly knows what she's doing. My hair is difficult to cut and because I wanted a lot of angling done on a short, layered bob, she even took the time to flat iron my hair so it would be easier to cut. I didn't like the way it looked after it was really flattened out, but when I got home and washed it, it was back to it's old self. I found a couple of spots that she had missed when I got home, and maybe it was because I wasn't able to see those spots after she was done, but I'm sure she would've fixed them if I had noticed them because I'm very picky about the style being ""just so."" But overall, I was very happy with the cut and the whole experience and would definitely go back to her again. Cynthia, you rock and you're my new hair stylist guru. Also for the city and Soho, the price of the cut was pretty reasonable... not cheap but not overly expensive either.
Pros: Relaxed, friendly, professional
Cons: Far from Queens, hard to find if you don't know SoHo
