I have lived in Japan, and I can vouch that this place has wonderful sushi! The salmon sashimi is simply THE BEST I have ever had (really, even compared to restaurants in Japan!). Yellowtail sashimi is also great. The pieces are big, juicy and FRESH! I also always get the Alaskan maki. As for appetizers, Sake Kinuta Maki is perfect -- I highly recommend it. The shitake soup or the lobster miso soup are a must! Also, for the brave, ankimo special is delicious. Also, their special drinks are really good. Try the Traffic Light -- it's really awesome.
Bottom line - my friends and I go to Fugakyu all the time, and we haven't been disappointed yet. Yes, the lines are long (although not if you come on Sunday or earlier in the day) and the service is lacking sometimes. But the food is WORTH IT!!!
