Review content:
I had just moved to the area and wanted a tooth checked for what I presumed to be a cavity. After merely glancing at my xrays and digital pictures, Dr. Joseph Eckman Sr. commented that a cavity I had filled a few months prior was pretty deep and was probably pinching the nerve in my tooth. Without discussing possibilities, he proceeded to anesthetize my gums- much to my dismay and alarm. I had to ask one of the assistants what was going on. Apparently he was about to perform a root canal- which is done when the nerves in your tooth are dead. If I would have been reassured that this was indeed the next step to take, I might have been at peace with the procedure. But instead I was never informed what was going on or asked if I had time or the money to complete such a procedure that day. As I left the office, I was never given any post- operation instructions; what I should or shouldn't eat or when the pain should subside.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg. I won't go into detail on the mannerisms of the other staff of the office or what I percieved to be a very stressful and strained work environment.
I regret stepping foot in this office. Don't ever go if you don't have to. I highly recommend Dr. Paul Britt in West Chester, PA if you are in need of a dentist.
