I was looking to get a dog portrait tattoo, had always heard good things about Phoenix so looked at their website and was immediately impressed by the painterly style of Steve's work.
I went to the shop and made an appointment for a consult with Steve, we discussed the portrait and some other ideas for expanding a vine I already had on the same arm into a sleeve. He did the portrait first, on my inner forearm, and it really exceeded my expectations - his knowledge and skills as a painter, particularly use of color really show through in this piece, the portrait is of a much loved pet who recently died and I now have an amazingly artistic, lifelike image of her with me forever.
Since then Steve has been working on my sleeve, combining all the elements I wanted to include with his own imaginative interpretation. I go every couple of weeks (20+ hours so far) and am totally satisfied with the whole experience. If you are looking for a tattoo from a true artist then I would say go see Steve, you'll have a great experience and walk away with a unique piece of art.
