Review content:
I went into Jean Leon this evening for a simple trim of my long hair. All I wanted to do was take off the split ends. When I called for the appointment I told them I just wanted a trim, for which I was told the cost would be $30. When I sat down with the 'stylist' I told her again that I just wanted a trim - not a ""blowout"" (what is that anyway?) which costs an extra $30. I was just going home. I don't do much with my hair and I avoid blow dryers. After she was done trimming (which took maybe 10 minutes), she asked again what we were doing, and I told her very clearly that I do not blow dry or straighten my hair, ever; I just let it do what it does. So what does she do? She goes right on ahead and straightens my hair with a blowdryer. Since I don't go to salons or do these things, I didn't really realize what she was doing - I thought she was just drying it a bit so she could check the length. I didn't figure it out until she was halfway through my head, and said, ""your hair looks nice straight, doesn't it?"" I said, ""no, I don't like it."" In fact, I HATE IT. So what did she do then? She went right on straightening my hair! By the end I looked like a ridiculous plain-jane 70's throwback, about as unappealing as I can possibly get. My wavy/curly hair is probably my best feature, and she'd succeeded in removing all of its good qualities. To add insult to injury, when I got up to the counter I was told that my total was over $60! I told the girl that I hadn't asked for and in fact did not at all want the blowdryer treatment I'd received, and she pretty much told me that didn't matter. The haircut itself is fine I guess, but it's really nothing my mom couldn't have done in the kitchen in about 15 minutes. I have no layers, I have no nothing. Trim the ends, that's it. The salon experience was just awful, and I left hating the way I looked and feeling VERY overcharged. I just hope that once I wash my hair it looks like my hair again! Pros: they didn't ruin my hair permanently Cons: didn't listen to me, overcharged me, made me look ridiculous
