I, like most people, dislike going to the dentist. My experience here as far as care, has been exceptional. The dental hygienist is very knowledgeable and takes the time to educate you on better dental hygiene. She also is very kind and does her best to make you comfortable. Having not been to the dentist in about 5 or 6 years, I had quite a bit of work to be done. My dentist is Dr. Elam. He is nice and does a good job. I am rather pleased with the care I have received there. My complaint is with their billing, or lack thereof. I have dental insurance, and previously was billed for any work. Which is pretty standard. Generally, if you have insurance you either pay a small visit fee and are billed any remaining balance later. With all the dental work I had to get done, this would be nice. However, they are trying to do away with billing and have patients pay everything up front. So, if you are getting work done be prepared to pay all of it upfront regardless if you have insurance or not. Yes, even $700.00+ that day. I have always paid my bills on time and have paid them in full. I don't think it is fair to penalize everyone for the few people that may not pay theirs. Dental work is expensive. Paying a few hundred is not going to be easy for everyone. It is nice to have it in payments. The work is also over priced. I could get a filling done anywhere else for around $60. Not here. It is closer to $100. Pros: great dental hygienist, friendly staff (mostly) Cons: more expensive than most dentist, eliminating billing
