Review content:
When I'm around the Civic Center area (like for jury duty!), I make a point to stop by Saigon Sandwich Shop for lunch or some sandwiches to go. The BBQ chicken & meatball sandwiches are favorites in our family. The combo is a bit heavy with pork and pate but very filling. For under $3, the sandwiches are a bargain, filled w/jalapeno peppers, marinated carrot slivers and cilantro. If you like your coffee strong, the Vietnamese coffee here will satisfy you. Try some of the other counter specialties. They have these banana leaf wrapped rice specialties, some filled with sweet coconut & sesame seeds, another long pan-fried one with coconut and beans and yet another sticky rice paste filled w/meat. Life's short, be adventurous!
Pros: inexpensive, fast
Cons: parking difficult, crowded at lunch hour
