Review content:
you dont need to spend alot on hotels in albany. there are SO many of them. ramadas are all clean, the ones on western and central are nicer than on broadway. anything on wolf road is ok. -uptown- central avenue, or anywhere on western. the chain hotels are generally reliable although I dont know about the cheaper red roof inn and econolodge. id stick with comfort inn, ramada, best western, holiday inn, howard johnsons etc. the extended stay america was nice when first built but now its kind of a dive. avoid a hotel with a kitchen in the room, they get skanky. hotels i stay the most at are days inn wolf road and howard johnsons on washington. all easily accessible to highway. if you dont want to stay in saratoga for big bucks over the summer, you can stay cheaply in albany or latham or clifton park.
