Review content:
We have eaten there a few times since the new owners took over. The first time my husband and I went for lunch and the owner came to our table introduced himself and showed us around. He was so welcoming and kind it was like he was showing us his new home or new toy (very sweet and an astute businessman). The original ?Big Daddy?s? was set up that you had to walk through the bar to get to the tables, it must be mentioned that the bar was covered with thongs (not the thing one expects at a family restaurant and a little disconcerting). One could easily see how proud he was of his restaurant. The next few meals were uneventful, my kids LOVE it and the d?cor is so fascinating you can always find something new. On our last visit however, I have to say it was less than satisfactory?.The food as always was alright. My only complaint is how fast the service was, which sounds weird right; but, as you read on you?ll understand. We were still eating our appetizer when our salads came. No biggie we moved the plates to the side and had a crowded table but were able to somewhat enjoy our salads and munch on the nachos (which were yummy). We had a good laugh about it until no more than two minutes later the clueless waiter brought our entrees and was trying to figure out how he could fit it all on the table. That was when it stopped being funny! Mind you this wasn?t a young girl or boy; our waiter was a grown man who should have known better. He was nice so I felt bad saying anything and besides the Ma?tre de was in her late teens and I couldn?t find a manager so we sucked it up. We had him throw the salads and appetizers out and ate the entrees or tried to. I was kind of upset that our meal was so rushed so I just had them wrap mine to go. I was upset to have wasted money on apps and salads that were just thrown in the trash; I don?t mind spending money but expect to get either goods or services for my hard earned money. I might consider going back again since my kids like the food but they are VERY low on the list, there are so many other options it will be a LONG LONG time before we return.
