Although I write about beauty and fashion, this is my first review for Citysearch. The reason why I'm suddenly inspired is that I got a haircut by Mark Garrison at his salon and it blew my mind. The guy's got hands as gifted as his eye. I was wearing my hair very Jackie Kennedy style, thinking it elegantly retro. He thought it added about three decades to my 46 years so he sliced two inches off the bottom to little longer than a bob length, which, since I have a long face, turned out to be flattering to my face and neck, which is long and he thought I should show it off. He then angled my hair around my face to show off my cheekbones and created long layers everywhere else so my hair would have lots of movement. It's a style that I love because it makes me younger and even feel younger. As for his salon, it's well-kept, the floors constantly swept, and the staff full of smiles and aiming to please, asking if you'd like something to drink, getting extra towels if your cold, etc. And, if you can't afford Mark's price, there's a real range among his staff, all of whom he personally trained so you can trust their skill. Plus, he checks every haircut that leaves his salon to ensure the quality is up to snuff. Sometimes, he'll even pick up a scissor and do a final snip-snip. That's what I call a ""hands-on"" business owner.
