The Astrokitty peeps have created a locally owned, laid back environment that invites the customer in to grab their comics and then stay and chat awhile about the upcoming news, great new reads, and other related games, movies, books and anime topics. The owner is always ready with a suggestion for stuff you'd also like, and 9/10, he's on the ball. I've never felt like I was wasting someone's time here; everyone seems to be a valued customer no matter what genre of entertainment you subscribe to - something I have not always found at other comic book stores. Its easy to set up a pull list, and they usually email to let you know when your stuff has come in, which is super convenient and great customer service. The owner also holds events outside of the comic shop to promote the comic culture to the Lawrence and Kansas City communities en large, rather than keeping it underground. Its a lot of work that seems to be done out of passion for this niche and love for the community, and that always earns my respect. Good people, good times, good store!

Cons: Wish I still lived in Lawrence so I could buy here
