Review content:
After reading the excellent reviews, my wife and I had high hopes for a spectacular dinner - maybe unrealistically high? We were seated promptly in a beautiful, romantic dining room. My wife ordered the petite fillet cooked medium. It was perfectly prepared, tender and delicious. I opted for the ribeye also medium. The steak was large but contained large sections of fat. I would estimate that 25% was inedible. The thicker portion of the steak was significantly undercooked - bright red instead of pink. The ala carte side dishes were also frustating. I ordered the mashed garlic potatoes (house specialty) and my wife opted for the au gratin potatoes upon recommendation of the waiter. The portions were entirely too large. A good waiter would have suggested sharing a potato and maybe another vegetable like asparagus. Back on the plus side, we shared a fabulous creme brulee for dessert.
Pros: ambience, desserts
Cons: inconsistent quality
