Heard about RED thru OpenTable. Atmosphere good; tables too close together, very loud due to high ceilings however the indirect lighting was inviting. Maitre 'd (owner?) a bit snippy and full of himself but server was excellent. Took a tad long for entree to arrive. Food very good. Sushi was fresh, crab roll tasty. Accrotriaments average. Entrees, snapper for me and sliced steak for my friend were really quite good. The steak was cooked med-rare and the fish sauteed to a perfect flake. Mojitos not nearly as good as Cabana's in NYC, too strong/too bitter. Wine suggestions enjoyable. We did not do desert. I would recommend for a date, or group, not kids. One thing, this place has an upstairs, the main dining room and at least one bar. Problem -- ONE ladies room, one lady at a time. You have to wait in the hall facing the dining guests if its occupied. Poor design. Other than that, the perfect location in Red Bank. Would recommend but would personally try other things in the area too before going back. Overall: enjoyed the food, and my date. :) Pros: location in redbank, quality of food, server knowledgeable Cons: loud, one bathroom/one person at a time, entree took too long
