Review content:
We used Flat Rate two years ago to move from Los Angeles to Ventura. Their quote was the best of all the companies we evaluated and we were quite pleased with the service. But, oh my, how things can change in the span of two years. Not only was the cost outrageous this time around - which we agreed to pay, believing we would be receiving the same high-quality service as before - but the quality of the service was horrendous. The movers showed blatant disregard for our belongings, stacking heavy items on top of those that were very fragile. They made little effort to relocate boxes and large items to their appropriate locations: bedroom 1 to bedroom 1, living room to living room. And they rushed out of our house when they were ""finished"" before we had a chance to ask them to more completely move items to where they truly belonged. Additionally, the movers obliterated a very delicate sculpture that is irreplaceable. And when confronted with their deed, they showed no remorse, only shrugging their shoulders. When we filed a claim with the main office, we received a laughable check in the amount of $30 with the excuse that they could only reimburse us $0.60/pound and that they were actually ""prohibited"" by industry regulations from paying any more than that. I highly recommend AGAINST using Flat Rate's services.
