Review content:
Ive always been a great fan of Russos since I was a little kid going there with my parents. Its had its ups and downs through the years and for a while it was probably only around because it's the area's most famous neighborhood bar. But in the last few years since being taken over by one Russo (instead of 20) it has really become a respectable establishment. The food is definitely the biggest change. I used to go to Russos for the people and happened to get a bite to eat while I was there. Now I go there for the food. And I keep going and going and going. It's Italian comfort food at its best. the eggplant parm sandwich is a personal favorite, but I know the veal parm is amazing if you like veal (I personally feel too guilty eating it but Ive tried a few bites off others plates and it was delicious). Anything with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese and you cant go wrong. Some other dishes can get too oily but theyre usually still good, the penne ala vodka comes to mind. I have been back at least 15 times since the reopening and havent been disappointed yet. if the new owners are reading this, keep up the good work!!
