Review content:
I absolutely love this place! I'm greeted with a warm smile, hug and kiss on the cheek everytime I go in. The staff is friendly and personable. Everything is cooked to perfection and the guy who makes the pizza--does it just like the places I went to when I was a kid--brings back so many memories. Service is a bit slow but no different than say going to the Palm, The Trace, or other Fufu places out on West End or Down Town. Knowing what true ethnic food is supposed to taste like--I truly enjoy this place--it's not commercialized like Buco de Bepo or to ""poched-up"" like Valentino's. This is good old family style Italian food. The wine selection is a bit small but then again--if you went to a family member's house--would you really have a large list to choose from? Uncle Gio and crew took the guess work out of what wine goes best with the meal. You can't go wrong with any one of them with any one of the meals. No liquor license but hard liquor or margarita's wouldn't go with the taste of the food--it's a wine place. The wine they do have is incredible. A bit pricey but if you think about it--you'll always go home with leftovers...so not too bad. It's definately a mom and pop place and they are still new to the business (at a year and a half). I've only been there once where they ran out of items but that was at no fault of theirs--delivery didn't make it in. I feel like family every time I go in--and being from up north--this place is a slice of home--now only if they could do Chicago-style deep dish--I'll know I'll went to heaven--either that or I might ask the pizza guy to marry me!
Pros: Service, quality of food, atmosphere, no reservations needed--unless on Fri or Sat from say 5-7pm
Cons: There can be tables open and no parking. Also people come in and pick up and there's no place for them so they wait up front, giving the illusion that the place is packed.
