Warning! If you're a Bowdoin parent, DON'T use Auburndale Cleaners' dorm linen service! We paid $193 for linen service for our daughter. She was on a Bowdoin pre-orientation trip when the linens were delivered to campus, so she had no towels, no sheets...nothing. I phoned Auburndale Cleaners, who had just returned from Bowdoin. They said they couldn't deliver again for TEN DAYS because they're 30 miles away! I offered to PAY to have something delivered to my daughter, but no luck. I phoned the local Bed, Bath & Beyond and purchased linens, which they kindly delivered FREE OF CHARGE! The following day, we politely asked for a refund of our $193 from Auburndale since we no longer required their linen service. SIX MONTHS LATER, after writing a letter requesting a refund, making ELEVEN long-distance phone calls to Auburndale and to Bowdoin, and faxing copies of our cancelled check to Auburndale (who said they had no record of our payment. Oops!... They said they must have credited our payment to someone else's account!), we finally, finally received our refund. But get this: AUBURNDALE KEPT $25 OUT OF OUR REFUND FOR 'THEIR INCONVENIENCE'!! And after calling Auburndale and trying to speak with their 'accountant', we were told we couldn't have her phone number. Beware! These people are unethical and have horrible customer service skills! If you have a problem, they will give you the 'run around' because they're hoping you'll just go away!! It took a phone call from Bowdoin's Residential Life Office to get any action at all from these people, and Auburndale Cleaners DIDN'T mention to the Bowdoin staff that they were keeping $25 of our refund for 'their trouble'!! Bowdoin did offer to send us $25 for having to deal with these horrible people, but we declined their kind offer. We just want to warn you: Don't use this linen service! Just go to Bed, Bath & Beyond and buy sheets and towels - their service is excellent! Don't use Auburndale Cleaners!
Cons: Horrible, horrible customer service regarding their linen delivery service to Bowdoin College! They give you the run around to get you to go away!
