I cannot speak to the security deposit issue, but I have been living in one of the Burnham buildings for several years now and I really enjoy it. It is affordable, clean, safe housing. Mr. Burnham is difficult to get a hold of, but the maintenance man is very accessible and, if something breaks in my apartment, it is always fixed promptly and well. Here are some things I really like about my building:the common areas are cleaned every week; many features original to the building are still intact: hardwood floors, beautiful embossed wallpaper, vintage porcelain sinks, thick wood moulding; there is laundry on every floor; there is a new elevator (makes getting groceries up to the 5th floor waaaay easier!); there is a well maintained parking lot; they have bathtubs and not just teeny shower stalls; the stove is GAS!; the people who live here are super nice
