Review content:
Val's is more than just a good burger, it's an experience. I've been going for 30+ years and still stop in a couple of times each year since I've moved to the North Bay. Old style diner. We actually drove out a couple times (about an hour drive) while my wife was pregnant because she craved their pickle slices! Burgers are the best you'll find anywhere and cooked exactly as ordered. Fries and onion rings are great. Everyone raves about the shakes, but if they were served anywhere else they would be considered average. This being said, they do go great with the burger...and yes I do the Papa medium well w/cheese and tomato. Some folks complain about the wait, but it's worth it. Some complain about the noise or service...get over it. It's a diner and operates just as a diner should: Sit em, stuff em and get em out. Food is fantastic, portions are generous & well priced and I've yet to have bad service in probably 100+ visits.
Pros: Diner atmosphere, portions & prices
Cons: Parking if you don't know the area
