Businiess name:  6 Flags Darien Lake Theme Park/Resort
Review by:  Rachael M.
Review content:
Way back in "my" day, before 6 Flags came in, you could buy 2 levels of tickets - one was a less expensive walk around pass, no rides, the other was an all day, all ride pass. Now, doesn't matter what you want to do, everyone pays ONE PRICE, and it's very expensive. You can find discounted tickets at Wegmans, and some employers have discounted tickets available to employees. They charge for EVERYTHING here, including a whopping fee to park in THEIR lot! You can't take ANY food or beverage inside the park, so be prepared to pay hefty prices ($10 for a 12-inch sub from the in-park Subway) for food and water. Unless you live in Corfu, Darien or the surrounding towns, this is a long haul out (about 30-45 minutes one way, depending on traffic), and with the cost of gas what it is, just the trip out can be an expensive proposition. And...if there's a concert at 6 Flags the day you go out, be prepared for double or triple the normal traffic volume. It took us 2 hours to get out of the parking lot one night after a concert, then another hour to get to the thruway entrance and through the tolls (which is about 10 minutes from 6 Flags). The light show at the end of the night is really awesome, the rides are plentiful and fun (for people who like rides), but wait times to get on rides can be long. Also, when they say "kids price", they don't mean under 18, they mean under a certain height. So, if you have kids who got tall early (like we do), be prepared to pay full adult price for them from about age 6 or 7 on.
