Review content:
I went to Dr. Abergel in a very vulnerable state. I had recently turned 40, and didn't like what I saw when I looked in the mirror. I answered an add in the LA Times and went to see Dr. Abergel. One of his available procedures was a deep chemical peel. The only research I did was to find that he was board certified and considered to be one of the top plastic surgeons in town.I had the chemical peel which left me with scars and acid burns on my upper lip and forehead. Dr. Abergel refused to admit that the procedure had not been successful and later refused to honor my contract that stated that he would be responsible for any corrective treatment. He insisted that the burns, leaving loss of pigment on my face were caused by the sun and refused to apologize for his botched job. In retrospect, I realize that I was foolish to choose such a drastic procedure, but it is up to a Doctor to steer a patient in the right direction. I have consulted with other doctors that say this procedure is too risky, and do not do it. I feel that Dr. Abergel was dishonest and incompetent. Clearly he is looking for money at the expense of the patient.
