Review content:
I am a Raleigh native and took riding lessons at MacNair's in the 1970s and loved it ... so I brought my daughter and son for lessons when they were old enough (age 6). They've been riding ever since (4 years and counting). Facility is great, instructors are extremely well trained, fun and effective and kids learn all kinds of personal responsibility in addition to safety oriented impeccable hunter jumper riding technique. Many students at MacNair's have gone on to qualify for and win national competitions in the sports of dressage, eventing and hunter jumper showing at all levels of shows, from local 4H club shows to C, A and AA rated USEF rated shows and everything in between. 3 kids went to national Pony Finals just last year in 2008! We love it so much now I'm riding too. Large group of barn moms now ride too and really enjoy the fanstastic workout it provides. It's simply the best dressage/hunter/jumper barn anywhere around Raleigh and one of the top barns in the Southeast. Terrific location right in town on an island of 270 pristine acres of green. A jewel right under our noses! Pros: Very convenient location, state of the art facilities, highly trained instructors Cons: It's an expensive sport, but so worth it!
