Review content:
My experience at Spice was shocking! I had ordered my favorite Thai dish, hot sweet basil sauteed with shrimp. My plate came out looking beautiful, the sauce tasted fantastic. I mixed in my cone of rice, added in my condiments & then I tasted the shrimp.. it tasted like it had been sitting outside in 90 degree weather the whole day!! I called the waiter immediately, very politely explained the problem & requested the same order but with beef. Little did I know that they would take me so literally! Not only did they bring me the beef, but they brought it to me on the same plate! They had literally picked off the shrimp & added some stir fried beef to the plate with the sauce cooked with the bad shrimp. I could tell because the rice was mixed up with the sauce & condiments the way I had left it! The disgusting part was that even the manager saw nothing wrong in this! Her excuse to me was that I had eaten the rice so they didnt want me to waste it!!?! (What other corners must they be cutting to increase profits?) What made the experience even worse was that my friends had to put up constant interruptions to their meal. The busboy for some odd reason took offense and started screaming that I should pay for my plate of shrimp! The manager too just wouldnt leave us alone! She kept coming up to our table every 2 minutes & either insisted that the shrimp was good or that there was nothing wrong with eating beef cooked in a sauce with the bad shrimp. AND we werent the only people to suffer that day! Another table also had a similar experience with their crispy tamarind fish. Their bill, which included the price for the tamarind fish, arrived at their table before the dish. When they argued & got their fish it was also bad! Perhaps the day that I went might have been an anomaly in terms of the quality of their seafood but needless to say, the way in which they handled the situation prompts me to advise everyone to stay away!
