Review content:
Two bad reports here. Recently, I had my wife take her Saturn to these folks to have the rear brake drums turned and the brake shoes replaced. I am a very experienced drag racer and mechanic (26 years). I had checked the vehicle out prior to sending her there. I did not have the time to do the maintenance myself as I had been called out of town to drive for an injured racer. All this vehicle needed was a very simple rear brake job. $100-$120 max. My wife was told ""lets put it on the lift and see what it needs"". 30 minutes later the manager informs her that the brakes are shot and it needs new rear seals and a host of other repairs. When she said ""just do the brakes as I requested"", the shop manager said ""OK but we can not warranty the work without these other things being repaired"". Being that I was out of town, she agreed to the brake job and rear seal replacement only. She then waited an additional 2.5 hours for the work to be performed. Price...$296.88. If she had of agreed to all the ""recommended repairs"" the bill would have been a whopping $826.96. I have the written estimate. What a rip-off. I had this same experience from one of their sister-companies in California (BIG O Tires).
Pros: Nice to you when you come in.
Cons: Trick uninformed customers into unneeded repairs at huge costs.
