Review content:
I've eaten in many restaurants world wide and without question the carpacio I ate last night from La Callina (which is the proper spelling of the restaurant) was the best. There was a beautiful creamy mustard sauce drizzled over the beef, capers, cheese that was really outstanding. The creaminess introduced the mustard gently without the acidic taste you would expect. I'll definitely be back for that dish. My cousin and I shared the appetizer and he had never had carpacio before. He even went so far as to say he would never, ever even order it. Once he tried it he was SOLD! He'll order it from La Callina again too! He had the Calamari Steak for his maincourse and I had the Lamb Chops. Both were outstanding. The calamari was topped with a tomato coulis with capers and dash of lemon. My lamb had a wine reduction sauce that really brought a nice zip to the lamb. Perfect pairing. Usually I like my lamb broiled without any sauce but this one was excellent. There were sides of fresh perfectly cooked (not overcooked) vegetables, a creamy polenta and a swirl of some very nice pasta. The only thing left on my plate was the bones! Dessert for me was the Chocolate Mousse cake which was nice, my cousin had the Creme Caramel which I thought a bit bland. Otherwise, it was a great dining experience. We'll definitely be returning to La Callina.
