Review content:
My intentions were to take my wife, daughter and an elderly relative (86 years old) on a weekend outing to Lake Pleasant for the sole purpose of enjoying the site of the lake. On May 1, 2011, I perused the facility and found Site 40 to best suit my needs as far as views of the lake were concerned and ease of parking of the RV so I pre-paid our stay for May 6th and 7th. I was given a brochure and Site 40 marked as my site for my stay. The brochure plainly states CHECK-IN time to be 3:00 P.M. Upon my arrival at 2:00 P.M. on Friday May 6th, I was assigned Site 36 instead of Site 40. I was told Site 40 had been assigned to another customer. I presented my pre-paid receipt and was handed a Zerox copy of an addendum to the brochure that I was given on Monday and it stated on this Zerox copy of rules that specific sites could not be guaranteed. I argued my position of having a pre-paid 3 day advance notice of a non-refundable payment which should tell these folks that I WAS COMING AND WANTED THIS SPOT. My argument was futile so I RELUCTANTLY accepted Site 36 with great disdain. At Site 36 it was necessary to pull into the site rather than back-in in order to get a view of the lake from the kitchen area in my RV. In so doing, I had to hurl the water hose and electrical power chord under the RV and forward of the entry step in order to connect to water and electricity. That created a tripping hazard for entry into the RV and made it very difficult for an 86 year old person to enter and exit the RV (see photo). Furthermore, The Park Brochure of rules plainly states ""GUESTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING UP AFTER THEIR PETS."" It further states that ""PLEASANT HARBOR CONDUCTS REGULAR SITE INSPECTIONS TO MAINTAIN THE SUPERB APPEARANCE THAT OUR GUESTS EXPECT OF US."" See the photo of what I had to look at when parking my RV in site 36...no, I don't have pets so the manure is not from any animal of mine. SO MUCH FOR THE SUPERB APPEARANCE. I've scratched Pleasant Harbor RV Resort off my ""bucket list."" Will I recommend the place to my co-workers and friends? NO,NO,NO!
